Johnny Boychuk is well-known for the mask-shattering strength of his slap shot, but normally those shots come from inside the blue line.
Not on Tuesday though, as the New York Islanders defenseman wired one from behind the blue line that bounced past San Jose Sharks goalie Alex Stalock to give his team a 3-1 lead 45 seconds into the third.

The play was challenged by Sharks coach Peter DeBoer for a potential offside, but it was ruled a goal - good for Boychuk's third of the season - following a review.
