Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier has earned the praise of his coach and a second straight start.
After stopping 23-of-25 shots in a 3-1 loss against the New York Rangers on Friday night, head coach Mike Babcock confirmed that Bernier would once again be between the pipes on Saturday when the club takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Babcock said Friday's performance versus the Rangers was Bernier's "best night (in goal) of the year."
Bernier is still in search of his first win of the season. His record now sits at 0-5-1.
