Wild's Fontaine victim of ugly knee-on-knee hit from Blackhawks' Desjardins

Minnesota Wild forward Justin Fontaine was helped to the locker room Friday after sustaining a devastating knee-on-knee blow from Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Desjardins.
The two met along the blue line as Fontaine attempted to step around Desjardins as he entered the offensive zone. Desjardins didn't seem to deviate too far from his path, but did step in and truck through the extended leg with his force going directly through Fontaine's left knee.
Wild head coach Mike Yeo suggested after the game that the initial diagnosis for Fontaine's injury presents a week-to-week timetable for return.
Desjardins was served a two-minute minor penalty on the play.
