The Detroit Red Wings have placed veteran forward Dan Cleary on waivers, head coach Jeff Blashill confirmed Wednesday.

Cleary signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings last month.

He has played the last 10 seasons with the Red Wings, winning the Stanley Cup in 2008.
