Decision on Las Vegas NHL bid could come in December

Prospective NHL owner Bill Foley remains hopeful the league will award Las Vegas an expansion franchise despite the on-going holding pattern.
Foley, who submitted a $500-million expansion bid in July, believes a decision should come by the end of the year, Steve Carp of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
"We're done with the vetting process, and we're just waiting to hear from the NHL what's next," Foley said.
The NHL Board of Governors executive committee is expected to discuss the possibility of expansion sometime in the next few weeks. An announcement could come when the league meets in Pebble Beach, Calif. on Dec. 7 and 8.
"I would expect we'll hear something to happen in December and whether we can move forward," Foley said.
The MGM-AEG arena remains under construction in Las Vegas, with just over 13,500 tickets already being sold.
