The former NHL head coach has been named bench boss for USA's 2016 World Cup team.

Tortorella coached 930 NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks, with 444 wins and a Stanley Cup to his credit.

Internationally, he served as head coach of USA's World Championship team in 2008, guiding the team to a sixth-place finish.

Tortorella, however, has been out of the game in an official capacity since the 2013-14 season when he was let go by the Canucks after one underwhelming season, which included a multi-game suspension.
