The Dallas Stars announced Monday that they've hired Jeff Reese as their goaltending coach.

"Each season, we look to improve every facet of our organization," general manager Jim Nill said. "With Jeff, we had an opportunity to add to and enhance our group as a whole. He has done tremendous work with several goaltenders in his time and that experience is invaluable."

Reese was formerly a goaltending coach with the Philadelphia Flyers, with their netminders going 228-161-52 under his tutelage.

Reese will replace Mike Valley, who will remain with Dallas as director of goaltending development.

Kari Lehtonen received the bulk of the work in the Stars' net last season, posting a 34-17-10 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and .903 save percentage.
