Bruins' Zdeno Chara suffers fractured fibula; requires 4 weeks recovery

At least one member of the Boston Bruins would have gone into the playoffs limping had the club managed to qualify.
Zdeno Chara suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left fibula and will require approximately four weeks to recover, the Bruins announced Tuesday.
He won't need surgery, but the injury will prevent the Bruins captain from representing Slovakia at the World Championship next month, as first reported by Sport SME.
Chara missed practice late in the regular season after blocking a David Booth shot during a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but played out the string while averaging around 24 minutes of ice time over the final three contests.
