Hamburglar down: Anderson replaces Hammond as Senators' Game 3 starter

Adam Hunger / USA Today

The Hamburglar's smile has turned to a grimace.

Ottawa Senators head coach Dave Cameron will turn to Craig Anderson in lieu of Andrew Hammond for Sunday's pivotal game against the Montreal Canadiens.

This was made evident after Anderson stood in the starter's crease during the morning skate, and was the first goalie off the ice.

This puts an end to Hammond's spectacular run in the Ottawa net, for the time being at least. In 24 appearances down the stretch, he posted a record of 20-1-2 with a .941 save percentage, but dropped the first two games of the opening round playoff series, allowing seven goals on 81 shots.

Anderson, Ottawa's supposed number one goalie, won 14 regular season games with a save percentage of .923, but has made only 12 appearances in 2015 due to injury.
