Senators' Stone has microfracture of wrist, questionable for rest of series

Bruce Fedyck / USA TODAY Sports

Ottawa Senators forward Mark Stone has been diagnosed with a microfracture of his wrist after receiving a slash from Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban in the team's contest on Wednesday night.

Subban was ejected from the game after the slash.

It was announced Thursday that he wouldn't receive any further discipline for the act, although the news arose before Stone's injury was made public.

Senators GM Bryan Murray spoke with the NHL Disciplinary Committee about the nature of Stone's injury before the Subban suspension was given.

The GM hopes that things will change now that more news about the severity of the injury has surfaced and feels that Subban deserves a suspension.

He also said that Stone is questionable for the rest of the series.
