The New York Rangers have reportedly made another deal, landing James Sheppard from the San Jose Sharks for a fourth-round draft pick in 2016, New York announced.
San Jose will retain a portion of Sheppard's $1.3-million salary this season, reports ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.
Sheppard, a bottom-six forward with the Sharks, figures to slot in place of Lee Stempniak, who was dealt for Winnipeg Jets farmhand Carl Klingberg just a few hours earlier.
The move is part of a flurry of activity Sunday, an afternoon which also saw the Rangers land defenseman Keith Yandle from the Arizona Coyotes for a first-round pick and prized prospect Anthony Duclair.
