Don Cherry celebrates his 81st birthday Thursday.

Cherry enjoyed a successful career as head coach of the Boston Bruins, but he really made a name for himself with his popular "Coach's Corner" segment after being hired full-time by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1981.

Here's a look at Cherry's top five rants.

5. Matt Cooke

Cherry called for Matt Cooke to be suspended after his blindside hit on Marc Savard.

4. Pavel Bure

Cherry had some pretty interesting theories about Vancouver Canucks star Pavel Bure following the team's Stanley Cup run in the 1994 playoffs.

3. "Buttercup"

Cherry called out Cal Clutterbuck for playing the role of tough guy while also wearing a visor.

2. Ulf Samuelsson

Ulf Samuelsson took out a number of players with dirty hits in his day, so Cherry delivered a hit right back.
