Leon Draisaitl could be sent to the WHL, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Draisaitl could be sent to the WHL, reports the Edmonton Journal.
Analysis:
Draisaitl hasn't had the easiest of rookie seasons and has been a frequent healthy scratch of late. The Oilers know that he needs to play, and there's a chance that if his rights are acquired by the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL (the league's best team), Edmonton will send him down to further his development. The bottom line is that he needs to play somewhere, and if it's not for the Oilers, then it's best for all concerned that he be sent down.
