Arizona Coyotes co-owner Anthony LeBlanc says the sale of the team to Andrew Barroway is moving forward, despite a report to the contrary.

LeBlanc, who is also the team's CEO and president, issued a statement on the club's Twitter account Monday in response to a report suggesting Barroway was on the verge of backing out of the deal.

The statement reads as follows:

Commissioner (Gary) Bettman provided a detailed update on the transaction to the board (at Monday's board of governors meeting) including the fact that the paperwork was finalized late last week. We will be working with the league to finalize this process and are on track to close before year end.

Here's what Bettman said Monday in regard to the Coyotes' situation.

Larry Brooks of the New York Post reported Saturday that Barroway was considering scrapping his bid to purchase the team, and that the Coyotes may need to consider shedding payroll.
