Daniel Alfredsson has reportedly made a decision regarding his future.

The veteran forward has decided not to play this season, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

From the report:

Sources tell The Dreger Report that Alfredsson has decided not to play this season and while the Red Wings have been informed he is likely done, they have not heard directly from Alfredsson.

Alfredsson did not attend Detroit Red Wings training camp and was not signed by the club.

He has been bothered by a nagging back injury, an ailment he aggravated before training camp.

The 41-year-old was expected to make a decision before December.
