The New York Rangers appear ready to give Tomas Kaberle an extended tryout.
The veteran defenseman could play with the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack as soon as Friday night, TSN's Darren Dreger reports.
Kaberle has agreed to play in at least one of Hartford's three games this weekend, according to Steve Zipay of Newsday.
The NHL club would need to sign Kaberle to a professional tryout contract prior to Friday's game.
The 36-year-old won't remain in Hartford after the weekend, according to Dreger's report, which implies the Rangers will recall Kaberle if they like what they see.
