San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl is officially in head coach Todd McClellan's doghouse.
The struggling winger was demoted to the fourth line during Saturday's morning skate, according to CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz.
Hertl has one point in his last eight games and three overall on the season.
He scored 15 goals and added 10 assists in 37 games last season before a knee-on-knee hit from Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown forced him to miss all but the final two regular-season games and seven playoff contests.
Hertl is expected to be in the lineup for Saturday night's game against the New York Islanders.
