Blues place Peter Mueller on waivers

The St. Louis Blues placed forward Peter Mueller on waivers Wednesday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA.
The move taps the brakes on Mueller's attempt to return to the NHL, after signing a one-year, two-way contract with the team earlier this summer. The 26-year-old last played in the NHL back in in 2013 as a member of the Florida Panthers, posting eight goals and nine assists in 43 games with a 52.5 Corsi For rating.
If unclaimed, Mueller will likely be assigned to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.
