David Booth impressed in his preseason debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs, playing with Nazem Kadri and Josh Leivo on the team's most effective line during regulation time before scoring the game-winning shootout goal against the Philadelphia Flyers in London, Ont.
Booth was in good spirits after the game, joking with reporters about one of the NHL's rule changes regarding his shootout attempt.
"I was going to do the spin-o-rama, but someone told me not to," Booth told reporters after the game. "I actually had a good lead. Someone told me what to do there and it paid off."
Booth beat Flyers goaltender Anthony Stolarz on the blocker side with a snap shot from the hash marks.
