Report: 'Absolutely nothing new' with contract negotiations between Bruins, Krug
Greg M. Cooper / USA TODAY Sports
It appears the Boston Bruins will be without Torey Krug on Thursday when the team opens their training camp in Wilmington.
Little progress has been made regarding Boston's contract impasse with Krug, who will not attend camp without a new deal, according to CSNNE.com.
Sheltered throughout his rookie season on the defensive end, Krug's 14-goal, 40-point campaign, which ranked him fourth in Calder Trophy voting, puts the Bruins in a tough spot.
They are already up against the cap, and have limited knowledge of what Krug can provide as a complete defenseman, but his offensive numbers suggest he's due for a substantial raise from the $925,000 he made last season.
