Senators owner denies reports of incoming minority partner
Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk took to Twitter on Wednesday to creatively debunk rumors that he is seeking a minority shareholder to help finance the club.
Confirming the rumour. Ottawa Senators have 3 new equity partners: Sparkles, Frosty and Pebbles -- my dogs. Great reporting @ottawa_dc

As per the Ottawa Citizen, a recent magazine article suggested local business man and passionate Ottawa hockey fan Dan Greenberg "had invested in the club and could possibly take over majority ownership of the Senators."
Ottawa enters the 2014-15 season with the league's third-lowest payroll (via Capgeek), a fact that only fuels frustration among the fan base and speculation that Melnyk is in need of financial assistance when it comes to running the club.
