Lightning sign Ben Bishop to 2-year, $11.9M extension

The Tampa Bay Lightning aren't putting much stock into the injuries goaltender Ben Bishop sustained last season, signing him to a two-year extension on Saturday.

Bishop has one year remaining on his two-year, $4.6-million contract at a cap hit of $2.3 million. His extension will bring him through to the 2016-17 season.
In 72 career games played with the Lightning, Bishop's record is 40-18-8, with a .923 save percentage and six shutouts.
Pierre LeBrun reports Bishop's extension is worth $5.95 million a season.
