ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reports the deal is worth $1.25 million.
Schultz, who will be 32 by the time next season starts, is primarily a stay-at-home defenseman, with 146 points in 880 career contests. He is often relied on in defensive zone starts but doesn't tend to face the opponents' top scoring lines.
