The Toronto Maple Leafs made few moves on the first day of free agency but managed to sign veteran defenseman Stephane Robidas.

When speaking to Sportsnet, Robidas said, "I started my career in Montreal and I have a good chance to end my career in a hockey market like Toronto. I want to be part of the solution."

Robidas broke his leg twice last season, once with the Dallas Stars and not soon after with the Anaheim Ducks. Hopefully this season will be better to the defenseman.
