The Colorado Avalanche have reportedly added some much needed bulk to their blue-line group, acquiring defenseman Brad Stuart from the San Jose Sharks in a trade, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun.
Stuart has one year and $3.6 million remaining on his contract. In 61 games with the Sharks last season the stay-at-home defender managed three goals and 11 points.
CSNBayArea.com's Kevin Kurz is reporting that the Sharks acquired a second-round pick in 2016 and a sixth-round pick in 2017 in the deal.
Update: The trade is now official.
