Report: Sharks will use only compliance buyout on Martin Havlat
Ed Szczepanski / USA Today
The San Jose Sharks informed forward Martin Havlat at the end of the season that he wouldn't be returning to the team next season, but it was thought that perhaps the club would find a taker for the oft-injured Czech forward on the trade market. Clearly that hasn't occurred and the Sharks are reportedly set to use a compliance buyout on Havlat, reports CSN's Kevin Kurz.
The Sharks will be buying out the last year of a six-year, $30 million contract signed by Havlat in 2009.
