Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron will be unveiled as the NHL 15 cover athlete at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening, according to RDS.

Bergeron beat out Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban for the honor. The two were the final players in the EA Sports NHL 15 cover vote, which was conducted on Twitter using hashtags.

Bergeron told RDS "I have fond memories of the game and I never thought I would find myself on the cover one day. This is really special," via Yahoo Sports.

EA Sports may have inadvertently given away the results of the vote by pulling the trigger a little early on some banner ads for NHL.com, hours before the results of the award were to be unveiled.

Bergeron becomes the first Bruin to grace the cover of the game in 20 years, after Andy Moog and a sprawling Raymond Bourque shared the cover of NHL 94 with Los Angeles Kings forward Tomas Sandstrom.
