Capitals will host Blackhawks in 2015 Winter Classic
Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports
The NHL released the full season schedule Sunday afternoon and rumblings of the Washington Capitals hosting the Chicago Blackhawks in the Winter Classic have been confirmed.
On New Year's Day, as it happens every year in the afternoon, the Capitals will reportedly welcome the Blackhawks to Nationals Park. The event would be the fourth held at a baseball stadium.
This year's Winter Classic will pit two teams from different conferences against each other instead of rivals from the same division.
