Canadiens select Nikita Scherbak with 26th overall pick in NHL draft

The Montreal Canadiens drafted 15th ranked right-winger Nikita Scherbak with the twenty-sixth pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.

Scherbak, from Moscow, Russia, was given clearance by the WHL to join the Saskatoon Blades after coming to Canada from Russia. He scored 78 points in his rookie WHL season.

Representing Russia at the Subway Super Series was a highlight for Scherbak as he also was selected to Team Cherry in the CHL Top Prospects game.
