The Dallas Stars drafted 11th ranked defenseman Julius Honka with the 14th pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.
Honka, from Jyväskylä, Finland, is an undersized 19-year-old defenseman who finished his first season with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL recording 56 points through 62 games played.
A puck-moving defenseman is a valuable asset as Honka represented Finland at the World Junior Championship and was part of Team Orr at the CHL Top Prospects Game.
