Islanders select Michael Dal Colle with 5th overall pick in the NHL draft

The New York Islanders drafted 5th ranked prospect left-winger Michael Dal Colle with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NHL entry draft.

Dal Colle, from Woodbridge, Ontario, represented Canada at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament winning gold. He scored 95 points with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL this season through 67 games played.

With a bruising slap shot and great hands in his arsenal, Dal Colle added a new layer of physical play to his game and improved his season drastically scoring 47 more points than last season in four more games.
