Subban scores in double overtime as Canadiens down Bruins in Game 1
The Montreal Canadiens took Game 1 of their second-round series with the Boston Bruins with a 4-3 double overtime win on Thursday.
Montreal jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a power play goal scored by P.K. Subban and Rene Bourque's fourth goal of the playoffs. The Bruins were finally able to solve Carey Price on a goal by Reilly Smith from a seemingly impossible angle early in the final frame and tied the game on a slapshot by Torey Krug.
Montreal regained the lead on a goal by Francis Bouillon, but with less than two minutes to go in the third period, Johnny Boychuk fired a shot from the point past Price to force overtime. The Bruins outshot Montreal 14-6 in the first overtime - which featured a few amazing saves - and P.K. Subban scored his second of the night early in double overtime to seal the win.

Star Performer
As the above chart shows, the Bruins largely controlled possession over the course of the game, and Price stood on his head all night, stopping 48 of 51 shots and thwarting several quality Boston scoring chances.
This save off the stick of Jarome Iginla in the second period typified his performance.

Turning Point
While the Bruins would not have made it to overtime with Boychuk's late game heroics, the true turning point occurred early in the second. Down 2-0, Smith willed the puck past Price, giving the Bruins new life.

Highlight Reel
Price and Subban stole the show, and both were in fine form during overtime.

Quote of the Night
Subban - who was reluctant to do the post-game interview on CBC because he believed his goalie should be there instead - succinctly summed up why Montreal came out with the win in Game 1.
