Leafs, Wings reveal Centennial Classic sweaters

When the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings take to BMO Field on Jan. 1 as part of the Centennial Classic, they will do so in style.

The two Original Six clubs revealed their outdoor game jerseys on Monday.

The iconic Toronto franchise will skate in a dark blue jersey featuring a white maple leaf. Also of note, the pants are emblazoned with the logo of the Toronto Arenas, the original name Toronto donned from 1917 to 1919. The Maple Leafs are celebrating their 100th anniversary this season.

The Red Wings opted for a clean yet simple look, but unique to the sweater is the silver band on both arms, which displays the year of each of the franchise's 11 Stanley Cup championships. The Red Wings have won four Cups since 1997, including their most recent in 2008.
