David Krejci is slated to undergo an offseason procedure on his left hip

Krejci is slated to undergo an offseason procedure on his left hip, CBS Boston reports.

Analysis:

Krejci, who turns 30 on April 28, finished up the 2015-16 season with 17 goals and 63 points in 72 games played, while recording a plus-4 rating. Per the report, Krejci's left hip bothered him for the last 20 games or so of the B's recently-completed campaign, and the issue was related to an injury that he dealt with last season. Moreover, it's worth noting that Krejci underwent the same type of surgery on his right hip six years ago, with the playmaking center relaying that he's "looking forward to getting (the upcoming procedure) done and be the player (he) can be, with nothing holding (him) back." While Krejci was able to play through his hip issue down the NHL stretch run, Monday's revelation that he was dealing with an injury during that span shouldn't be surprising to those who watched the B's on a regular basis this season. Finally, there's been nothing to suggest that the procedure will impact Krejci's status for the 2016-17 season, and assuming a full recovery, he should be poised for a bounce-back campaign, though at this stage we suspect that his team context will be different, with the Bruins having missed the playoffs for the second straight year and bound to undergo an offseason makeover.
