Report: LeSean McCoy won't be charged for nightclub altercation

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy won't be charged for his role in a nightclub brawl that saw two off-duty police officers suffer injuries, sources told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, with the Philadelphia District Attorney's office apparently set to make the announcement this week.

The altercation occurred on Super Bowl Sunday and reportedly started over an argument over the ownership of a bottle of champagne. The matter has been under investigation for the nine weeks since, with little progress in the last month.

Despite the fact that the incident was captured on video, BigTrial.net reports the DA's office has concluded that the varying accounts of what happened are too disparate for successful prosecution.

Had McCoy faced criminal charges, he would have faced NFL suspension and risked losing all of the guaranteed money in his hefty contract with the Bills, signed a year ago.
