Free-agent defensive tackle Terrance Knighton is scheduled to meet with the Washington Redskins on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Knighton spent the 2015 season with the Redskins, recording 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games. The 29-year-old signed a one-year contract with Washington last March but wasn't retained by the team after the year ended.

Earlier Tuesday, Knighton visited the New England Patriots.

The nose tackle specializes as a run-stopper and would compete against Kedric Golston for the Redskins' starting nose tackle position.
