Jerry Jones thinks Romo could be 'definition' of MVP

Jerry Jones is hoping Sunday's win is the start of something special for the Dallas Cowboys.

During his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan, Jones said that if the Cowboys win out, Tony Romo should be seriously considered for the NFL's MVP award.

"Maybe that goes over in that dream category, but you saw the difference Tony made to his team," Jones said, according to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

"Now the definition of most valuable player has to do with the impact that you've made on your team. If a player comes in, wins the first two, is out seven and you lose all of those, and then for whatever the reason, (he) comes back, and you win big and are a heck of a football team, that's going a long way toward that definition and probably the most dramatic example of it in the NFL. If it happens ..."

The Cowboys are 0-7 without Romo this season, and 3-0 with him. Defensive end Jeremy Mincey, who previously denounced the idea of Romo being Jesus, called him "the savior of our season" after Sunday's win.

Emmitt Smith, who won the award in 1993, is the only Cowboys player to ever be named the league's MVP.
