Report: EJ Manuel expected to start Sunday

Buffalo Bills quarterback EJ Manuel is expected to get the start for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bob Holtzman of ESPN reports.

Manuel received the majority of work with the first-team offense in practice over the course of the week with Tyrod Taylor recovering from a knee injury.

Taylor tried to convince the coaching staff that he could play, but it was determined that he isn't ready, according to Holtzman.

"I don't make that decision," Taylor said Friday, via the team's official website. "I'm just focusing on getting back and getting everything healthy. Getting back to 100 percent, but it's up to the coaches whether I play or not."

Manuel's last start came in Week 4 of last season, when he completed 21-of-44 passes for 225 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 23-17 loss to the Houston Texans.
