Seahawks sign Russell Wilson to 4-year extension worth reported $87.6M
The Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson reached a deal with mere hours to spare before their agreed-upon deadline to stop negotiations by the start of training camp.
It's a four-year extension through 2019 worth $87.6 million, according to Peter King of The MMQB. The deal reportedly includes a $31-million signing bonus and approximately $60 million in guaranteed cash.

The average annual value of the deal is $21.9 million, placing it just below Aaron Rodgers' $22 million annually. Wilson makes up for that disparity in the percentage of his money that's guaranteed: 68.4 percent to Rodgers' 49.1 percent.
The four-year term may be the most interesting part of the equation. Most recent extensions signed by franchise quarterbacks have been for six years and it was widely expected Wilson would sign for a similar term. Reports suggest the Seahawks made a major concession in that area.
Wilson, 26, is set to hit free agency again (and potentially break the bank again) at age 31. It's not unrealistic to suggest he could sign two more mega-deals in his career.
