Report: Tim Tebow's contract includes injury settlement, no guaranteed money
Tim Tebow's one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles will pay him the veteran minimum of $660,000 and includes no guaranteed money, Dom Cosentino of NJ.com reported.
The contract does, however, include a five-week injury settlement in the event of Tebow getting seriously injured before the start of the 2015 season, one person with knowledge of the deal told Cosentino.
The settlement would be based off a $388,000 salary, which is the minimum for NFL players with three credited seasons who are not on the active or inactive lists. So, if Tebow were to land on injured reserve, he would collect $114,118 from the Eagles.
Tebow last threw a touchdown pass as a member of the New York Jets in 2012. He attended training camp with the New England Patriots the following season, but was released after failing to make the final roster.
