Williams will likely lead the Pittsburgh running game while teammate Le'Veon Bell is suspended for the first three games of the 2015 season, ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

The Steelers were hurt by a lack of running back depth in a playoff loss to the Ravens, and they knew Le'Veon Bell would likely be suspended for the start of the 2015 season. It was thus unsurprising to see the team add a veteran presence in Williams, even though Pittsburgh typically doesn't have the cap room for such luxuries. Williams figures to handle most of the early-down work from Weeks 1-3, but the touches will dry up once Bell is available. As LeGarrette Blount found out last season, there aren't many touches to be had when working behind a three-down workhorse such as Bell. It's also worth noting that Williams isn't much of a receiver, so Dri Archer or another back will likely handle most of the third-down work while Bell is suspended.
