The NFL is mulling the idea of holding the 2017 Pro Bowl in one of the world's most soccer-crazed nations.

The league is considering Brazil as host of its 2017 all-star game, according to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports.

The site of the game is expected to be discussed at the NFL's annual meetings this week.

Brazil is a candidate for several reasons, including its exotic locale (most Pro Bowls are played in Hawaii, in part to lure top players to the almost meaningless game) and a growing interest in the NFL among South Americans.

The 2016 Pro Bowl will return to Hawaii after a one-year absence. The 2015 game was played at the Super Bowl site in Arizona.
