Report: Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch agree to new deal; agent says sides still negotiating
Rumors of Marshawn Lynch's impending retirement appear to be premature.
The Seattle Seahawks and the running back have agreed to a new contract, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.
Lynch's new deal will be finalized in the coming days, according to La Canfora, and will pay him $12 million next year and $9 million in 2016.
Those terms are similar to the offer Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reported were on the table from the Seahawks.
Despite all signs pointing to a new deal, Lynch's agent Doug Hendrickson indicates nothing is finalized at the moment.
Lynch held out of training camp last year with the intention of getting more money from the Seahawks and after a strong showing in 2014, it appears Seattle feels he is worthy of a pay increase.
