Pete Carroll says Jeremy Lane hasn't watched film on Rob Gronkowski

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll offered a tepid defense of his cornerback Jeremy Lane after Lane commented that he didn't think New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was "that good."

Gronkowski was a unanimous selection to the All-Pro team after catching 82 passes for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Carroll provided a flat explanation about Lane's comments Friday.

"Jeremy just hasn't watched film yet," Carroll said to reporters

Lane is an above-average slot cornerback, but he isn't doing himself any favors by prodding the best tight end in the league a week before Super Bowl XLIX.
