PRO BASKETBALL
MILWAUKEE (AP) Bucks rookie Jabari Parker will miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Monday night's 96-94 win at Phoenix.
The team said late Tuesday night that Parker will have surgery after tests revealed the extent of the injury.
The 19-year-old Parker was hurt when he took an awkward step before colliding with the Suns' P.J. Tucker. It's a huge blow for a rebuilding franchise off to a good start under new coach Jason Kidd.
The Bucks, who won 15 games all of last season, are 13-12.
Parker, the second-overall pick in this year's draft, averaged 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this year.
Parker was a one-and-done star at Duke before getting drafted by Milwaukee in June. The polished forward was a cornerstone in a rebuilding plan for a franchise that had finished above .500 just once since 2003-04.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans needed only eight dominant minutes to undo more than three quarters of superb basketball by the hapless Utah Jazz.
Returning from a chest injury, Davis scored nine of his 31 points in the fourth quarter, when the New Orleans Pelicans overcame a 14-point deficit for a 119-111 victory on Tuesday night.
''The only thing that matters is that we won,'' Davis said. ''We just stayed with it.''
Davis, who sat out most of Friday night's victory over Cleveland and all of Sunday night's overtime loss to Golden State, played with a protective vest that did not appear to inhibit him.
''It didn't change the way I played,'' said Davis who came in averaging 24.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. ''I wasn't really thinking about it. I didn't really feel it either.''
Davis had nine rebounds and three blocks, with all three rejections coming in the pivotal final four minutes.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Marc Gasol scored 24 points, and the Memphis Grizzlies snapped the Golden State Warriors' NBA-best 16-game winning streak with a 105-98 victory on Tuesday night.
Mike Conley and Zach Randolph each scored 17 points, and Randolph also had 10 rebounds as Memphis earned its fifth straight win. Vince Carter added a season-high 16 points, and Jon Leuer had 11.
The Warriors came in with the NBA's best record at 21-2. They lost for the first time since Nov. 11 against the Spurs, also the last team to beat Memphis. This was the first time in NBA history in which both teams had 19 or more wins in the first 24 games.
Golden State star Stephen Curry missed back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds. He had 19 points on 9-of-25 shooting, including a 1-for-10 night from beyond the arc.
HOCKEY
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Nick Bjugstad scored the game-winning goal in the longest shootout in NHL history to lift the Florida Panthers over the Washington Capitals 2-1 on Tuesday night.
Bjugstad's goal came in the 20th round - on the 40th shot of the shootout - and beat Braden Holtby on the right side. The previous NHL record was 15 rounds, when the New York Rangers beat Washington on Nov. 26, 2005.
The Panthers outscored the Capitals 6-5 in the tiebreaker; the six goals were the most ever in a shootout. Jussi Jokinen, Dave Bolland, Derek MacKenzie, Sean Bergenheim and Dylan Olsen were also successful for Florida.
The Panthers were down to their last shot five times and answered each time with a goal.
Alex Ovechkin, Brooks Laich, Joel Ward, John Carlson and Brooks Orpik had shootout goals for the Capitals.
Derek MacKenzie scored in regulation for Florida, and Roberto Luongo made 23 saves.
Troy Brouwer scored in regulation for Washington. Holtby stopped 28 shots.
PRO FOOTBALL
SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Chargers will be staying at Qualcomm Stadium for at least another year.
Mark Fabiani, special counsel to Chargers President Dean Spanos, said in a statement Tuesday night that the team will not exercise its lease termination clause before next season and will continue to work to get a new facility built in San Diego. He noted that 2015 will be the team's 14th year working to get a new stadium in San Diego.
The Chargers have announced their return each year since 2007. The team says they need a new stadium to stay financially competitive with other franchises.
The announcement is a blow to the NFL hopes of Los Angeles, which is looking to lure a team back to the city.
NEW YORK (AP) -Nearly 500 employees at NFL headquarters in New York turned over phone and email records to investigators looking into how Commissioner Roger Goodell and his staff pursued and handled evidence in the Ray Rice case, two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
Mueller has been investigating whether anyone at the NFL had seen or obtained video of the former Baltimore Ravens running back striking his then-fiancee inside an elevator at an Atlantic City, New Jersey casino before the video was published online.
League employees were instructed to cooperate with Mueller's team of investigators and respond immediately to requests for information, the sources said.
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A brain-injury treatment program originally designed for military veterans injured on the battlefield has been updated to include professional athletes.
Representatives with the Eisenhower Center announced Tuesday that it will be the primary facility used by the NFL Players Association for treating brain injuries and other neurological issues through the After the Impact program.
The residential neuro-rehabilitation facility is based in Ann Arbor.
The program provides intense treatment for soldiers and athletes recovering from concussions, mild traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and other problems. It evolved from the Eisenhower Center's transitional treatment program to help military members deal with brain injuries.
BASEBALL
Japanese reliever Kyuji Fujikawa signed a $1.1 million, one-year deal Tuesday with the Texas Rangers that includes a club option for 2016.
Fujikawa was a standout reliever in Japan before spending the last two seasons with the Cubs. His time in Chicago was limited because of Tommy John ligament replacement surgery in his right elbow.
The deal in Texas, completed after Fujikawa passed a physical, includes a $1 million salary for next season, plus performance-based incentives. There is a $100,000 buyout if the Rangers decided not to exercise the 2016 option.
Texas also Tuesday signed first baseman Kyle Blanks and Tommy Field to minor league contracts with invitations to major league spring training.
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - The Los Angeles Angels acquired outfielder Matt Joyce from the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday in exchange for right-handed reliever Kevin Jepsen.
The Angels have big plans for Joyce, envisioning him as their primary designated hitter and possible No. 2 hitter, which would allow AL MVP Mike Trout to hit third in front of Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton. Joyce's left-handed bat and playing experience at both corner outfield spots also should allow Hamilton to spend more games as a designated hitter.
''He gives us a lot of flexibility and makes us a deeper and more balanced team,'' Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto said. ''We just felt like this was an opportunity for us to build a deeper and well-balanced lineup for 2015, and continue to move in such a way that we feel like we're making the team better.''

After hearing presentations from the four candidates Tuesday - Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington - USOC board members voted to join the race, but not until they have a chance to mull over the candidates during the holidays.
''It's a four-way tie,'' CEO Scott Blackmun said, not diverging from the federation's closed-lip policy on this yearlong selection process. ''We had great presentations, now we have an opportunity to explore how everyone felt about the presentations. We'll reflect, come back after the holidays and see what's in the best interest for the United States.''

MARRAKECH, Morocco (AP) - Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale scored to help Real Madrid coast past Mexico's Cruz Azul 4-0 Tuesday night for a place in this weekend's Club World Cup final against Argentina's San Lorenzo or New Zealand's Auckland City.
Sergio Ramos scored in the 15th minute and Benzema in the 36th. Bale added a goal in the 50th and Francisco ''Isco'' Alarcon in the 72nd for Madrid, which has won 21 consecutive games since a 2-1 defeat to crosstown rival Atletico in a Spanish league match on Sept. 13.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Mixed martial arts fighters filed an antitrust lawsuit against the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Tuesday, alleging the organization is a monopoly that chokes off competition, crushes athletes' earnings and controls the right to market their names even after their deaths.
''UFC has taken over the entire industry and dictated its terms upon the fighters ... they don't have any rights. It's the new religion, as it were ... it's time for things to change,'' said Nathan Quarry, who is a plaintiff in the suit along with Cung Le and Jon Fitch.
