Lions' Calvin Johnson slowed by sore ankle; sitting out plays

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

A sore ankle is keeping the league's top wideout from exposing a weak New York Jets secondary.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was being used sparingly during the first two quarters of Sunday's matchup with the Jets after an injured ankle limited him in practice this week.

Halfway through the second quarter, Johnson had lined up for 15 plays but had yet to be targeted. He was seen favoring his ankle at least once during the broadcast.
