Report: Ravens fear season-ending hip fracture for Pitta
Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta was carted off the field Sunday and taken to hospital after dislocating his right hip for the second time in a year during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
The initial diagnosis on Pitta's injured hip revealed no fracture, but the Ravens now fear that Pitta does have a fracture and will need to undergo surgery which could end his season, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Pitta is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm the diagnosis.
Pitta went to the ground without being touched Sunday and was in obvious pain. He underwent surgery on the same hip last year when he suffered a fracture and dislocation.
The Ravens signed Pitta to a five-year, $32 million contract in March, with $16 million guaranteed.
