Report: Eagles' Barbre expected to have surgery, could miss remainder of season

John Geliebter / USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles tackle Allen Barbre is expected to undergo ankle surgery this week and could miss the remainder of the season, ESPN reports.

Barbre suffered a high ankle sprain in the Eagles' Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was initially expected to miss four to six weeks of action, but now it appears the rest of his season is in doubt.

With Lane Johnson suspended and Evan Mathis also hurt, the Eagles need to add depth to their offensive line.
