Report: Saints cut 12-time Pro Bowler Champ Bailey

Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports

The career of future Hall of Fame cornerback Champ Bailey may have reached its end.

The move was rumored Saturday afternoon ahead of the NFL's cutdown deadline. The Saints are said to "love" rookie cornerback Brian Dixon and he will presumably take Bailey's spot in what promises to be a very exciting defense.

Now 36 years old, Bailey signed a two-year deal with the Saints in free agency. He struggled through injuries and a decline in performance in 2013.

The 12-time Pro Bowler and seven-time All-Pro probably won't have too much trouble getting a look from another team if he wishes to continue his career, but his days of playing starters' snaps are probably over.
