Report: 49ers release Adam Snyder despite uncertain status of Alex Boone

The San Francisco 49ers are parting ways with veteran Adam Snyder, leaving some uncertainty on their offensive line.

Starter Alex Boone continues to be a contract holdout, and letting go of Snyder means the 49ers could be starting Joe Looney at right guard and using inexperienced young players as backups.
Snyder, 32, started four games last season. He has 87 career NFL starts.
